i believe there is some other way to derive meaning of - of which nothing re- mains ) to signify the taking place of something which was not so before. after the word ending in च्वि the forms of the root कृ, भू or असू have to be placed.
If it justr meant repeat wave inward, it would result into previous thing not being there/ getting erased. not creation of new thing.
