Commentary
Originially अञ्ज् (अ ञ् ज) and ज्ञ (ज ञ् अ) refer to the same act - opening of hyde. ज्ञ is open hyde here. and अञ्ज् is here hyde open. There is no differentiation between “doer” of actoin and “recepient of action at this stage.
Differential placement of अ and ज evolved into two different meanings - अञ्ज् became “to express” & ज्ञ became “to know”.
