Commentary
The concept of द्व (two) as distinct from “one” and “many” came into being with exposure to tides, especially daily high tides. Dug out fishing weirs (sounds like वर? not a coincidence) were made in the intertidal zone - the area between low tide and high tide. Twice a day, high tides came rolling in and filled the weirs with food. This - food from the weir, led to the concept of two.
This caused the habit of eating twice. This caused salt tolerance. This exposure caused hominins to grow furless naked skin, akin to elephants, dolphins and whales over evolutionary time periods.
There were fishing settlements on coasts for lakhs of years before agriculture. These sites are now submerged due to sea level rise during Bølling-Allerød - younger dryas.
This seafood exposure increased iodine intake and triggered a chain reaction that eventually resulted in increased brain function and higher cognitive functions. Iodine intake and use of language were a positive feedback loop, reinforcing itself. Eventually causing H Erectus to morpah into H Sapience.
